Modeled after our signature product, the MGM Auto-Popper®, the Sportsman Auto-Popper® also features an MGM HEXALLOY 550 steel target plate.  Our new single piece solid steel base/hinge features the same spring loaded automatic reset for rifle use at 100 yards or more and pistol use from 10 yards.

Assembly of this guy is super simple.  Just install the reset spring, hinge bolt and nut to connect the base and target assembly and you’re ready to go. The offset ‘8’ holes in the base allow for use of spikes to secure the target to the ground for more stability (spikes not included). The Sportsman Auto-Popper® can also be used with the optional Sniper Legs to add height in grassy areas and provide additional stability in rough terrain.

The MGM Targets Auto-Poppers® Family…

The MGM Targets Standard Auto-Popper® is the same shape as a traditional Pepper Popper used in IPSC, USPSA, IDPA, 3 Gun and other competitive shooting sports. We highly recommend this target to every shooter, particularly those working on speed and accuracy. This portable steel target stands 14″ high and is only 4″ across the widest portion of the target. The majority of the target is only 2″ wide. This is one target you won’t hit on accident! Set up two Auto-Poppers® in-line and practice your handgun double taps. Are you fast enough? Some shooters call this size and shape a “Pesky Popper” for good reason!

The MGM Targets Hex Colt Speed Plate Auto-Popper® is a shape that originally appeared in the NRA Bianchi Cup Competition. The original is 28″ tall, but our Auto-Popper® version is only 12.5″ tall, which makes the Hex about 6″ diameter. These function exactly like our standard Auto-Popper¨, but are much easier to hit! If you are training with people who need to develop some confidence, this one is recommended over the standard Auto-Popper®. Six of these bolted to 2 x 4s on saw horses make an economy plate rack that can be broken down and easily moved around. The Hex Colt Speed Plate Auto-Popper® at 600 yards makes a great 1 MOA target for honing your long range rifle skills!

The MGM Targets Squirrel Auto-Popper® target is a blast! Spring loaded like all of the auto-poppers, this target is going to save you lots of reset time! Shaped like a squirrel, this is a great target for people who like to shoot but don’t actually want to hurt anything! If you do hunt, use the Auto-Popper® Squirrel shape to practice for varmint season for critters such as prairie dogs, rock chucks, wood chucks, ground squirrels. The squirrel is approximately 15″ tall and about 4″ wide. This is some serious Pig-Poppin’!
