The MGM Targets NEW AND IMPROVED Universal Clearing Trap will contain pretty much anything you try to throw into it!  Unlike our previous versions, we’ve filled this trap with a combination of rubber blocks and 3/8″ thick HEXALLOY AR550 plate. This thing is bomb proof!  To test it, we shot the following rounds into it.  We started with 10 rounds of Hornady 135gr + P Critical Duty in 9mm. As you can imagine, these didn’t penetrate the rubber much.  Then we went to 10 rounds of Hornady 55gr Frontier in 5.56.  Those got a little deeper for sure and sort of cut a path for the 10 rounds of 7.62×51 AP.  Two of these made it through the rubber to the first layer of HEXALLOY AR550 plate. Neither of them scratched the surface (literally) let alone penetrated.

NOTE!!!  This is meant to be used as a backup to a visual and physical inspection and confirmation that you have in fact cleared your weapon, and that your weapon is IN FACT EMPTY!  This unit is NOT intended for you to use as a bullet trap!   While this will contain multiple rounds, if you’re using it as a bullet trap and a round somehow gets out of it, you’re on your own!  We are not responsible for damage to property or person if multiple rounds are being shot into this unit!  We HIGHLY recommend a complete inspection of the unit if a SINGLE round is fired into it!
