Just like all of our targets, the MGM IPSC Hostage Target faces are constructed of 3/8” HEXALLOY 550 steel for long life and durability. It breaks down into three parts for easy transport to and from the range.
We made the IPSC Hostage Target out of a standard full size HEXALLOY 550 target face. We then made an assembly and bolted it to the back to support the HEXPlate hostage taker. The HEXPlate hostage taker is essentially an Auto-Popper® grafted to the back of an IPSC Target. The assembly holds a 1” steel bar that allows the hostage taker to moved left and right as desired by the trainer/shooter. When you shoot the HEXPlate hostage taker, the plate springs back to position for the next shot. Just like the MGM Auto-Poppers®, no manual resetting is needed.
This target utilizes our standard post and base combination, putting the top of the shoulder at 5′ tall. There is a structural tube base, with a structural tube post. The post telescopes on to the top of the base, and on to a tube mounted on the back of the target. You can shoot the post tube anyplace (except at ground level) and you will still be able to slide it off of the target. Usually, if the overlapping area isn’t protected, a misplaced round will dent both tubes, eliminating the possibility of sliding the outer one off of the inner one.

“Fantastic target. Have had one of these for a couple years. Everyone likes shooting at this target, testing their “”precision”” shooting. Very durable. The only dimpling that has occurred is from centerfire rifle (.223) from 50 yards. !00 yard distance doesn’t appear to leave a mark.
This is one of 6 MGM targets that I own and is the one target that is selected the most to shoot at.
Best used with centerfire pistol ammo. Rimfire (.22 LR) rounds don’t displace the “”bad guy”” round disk as much and makes it, sometimes, difficult to know, for sure, if it’s been hit.
Worth every penny!”

“This is a terrific target. I have several MGM targets, but this is the one everyone wants to shoot at . A real skill builder.
We use it for centerfire pistol and rifle as well as rimfire pistol and rifle. Movement of “”Bad guy”” when hit with .22 rimfire isn’t as easily seen due to lower energy on impact, but still fun to use.
Worth every penny.”
