We're having WAY too much fun here! We call this target the Hostage Target, even though you wouldn't shoot at a hostage. It is really a head sized target behind a hostage, like a terrorist holding a grandma, or something similar, but we couldn't come up with a name that didn't project images of blood and brains, so we settled on the "Hostage Target".

We start with our standard 500 Brinell full size IPSC silhouette target which is 18" wide, by 30" tall. The body is 24" tall, the head is an additional 6" x 6", to get to 30". On the back of this, we welded two tabs that allow us to mount a removable 1" diameter solid round bar. We then have an 8" MGM HexPlate™ hexagonal 'head' target on a bracket that can slide left to right on the round bar. This enables the person calling the shots (no pun intended) to be able to expose any amount of the terrorist he that he/she chooses to, varying the degree of shot difficulty. The round can be positioned all the way to either side, or at any point in between. When the round is hit it bounces back to the position you set. This reduces the amount of time to reset the target, so you can spend more time training and less time resetting targets.

This target utilizes our standard post and base combination, putting the top of the shoulder at 5' tall. There is a structural tube base, with a structural tube post. The post telescopes on to the top of the base, and on to a tube mounted on the back of the target. You can shoot the post tube anyplace (except at ground level) and you will still be able to slide it off of the target. Usually, if the overlapping area isn't protected, a misplaced round will dent both tubes, eliminating the possibility of sliding the outer one off of the inner one.

MGM HexPlate™: MGM's exclusive HexPlate™ hexagonal shaped targets are made of premium MGM AR500 steel. The hexagonal shape offers up to 13% more target area than the same size round plate, and everyone will see the immediately recognizable MGM hex logo shape and know it as a genuine MGM Targets product, synonymous with quality, reliability and value.... Leave Nothing To Chance™.

Please note, early iterations of some MGM hexagonal shape targets were made measuring ‘tip to tip’ measurements. Since that time, all MGM HexPlate™ targets have been standardized with the hexagonal shape measured by ‘flat to flat’ dimensions which correlate to a 13% larger area than the same diameter round plate. The ‘flat to flat’ standard has also been adopted and approved by the USPSA. We apologize for any inconvenience. - 17 August 2016

In passing, I need to mention that if you need different silhouette shapes, the most difficult part is letting us know exactly what it is you want. We do lots of custom cutting. While one of a kind is pricey, several units we can do relatively inexpensively. Give us a try. I'm betting you'll be glad you did.

Fantastic target. Have had one of these for a couple years. Everyone likes shooting at this target, testing their "precision" shooting. Very durable. The only dimpling that has occurred is from centerfire rifle (.223) from 50 yards. !00 yard distance doesn't appear to leave a mark. This is one of 6 MGM targets that I own and is the one target that is selected the most to shoot at. Best used with centerfire pistol ammo. Rimfire (.22 LR) rounds don't displace the "bad guy" round disk as much and makes it, sometimes, difficult to know, for sure, if it's been hit. Worth every penny!

This is a terrific target. I have several MGM targets, but this is the one everyone wants to shoot at . A real skill builder. We use it for centerfire pistol and rifle as well as rimfire pistol and rifle. Movement of "Bad guy" when hit with .22 rimfire isn't as easily seen due to lower energy on impact, but still fun to use. Worth every penny.
